Ellensburg Baptist church is Independent under the leadership of the Pastor of the local church. The pastor is the superintendent of the body of believers or the church until the Great Shepherd returns. The the pastor is to teach the whole counsel of God wither its popular or not . The Bible (KJV) is the only authority for all doctrine, and therefore, we are not to add to, diminish, distort, overlook, water-down, reason away any word of the Scripture, or replace with any ideology, philosophy and doctrines of man.
Ellensburg Baptist church is a soul-winning church that goes door to door preaching the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ by the command of Christ before his ascension as is recorded in Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15-16 and Luke 24:44-47, Etc.
Ellensburg Baptist church will not be contemporary, in music, in church services, nor will we follow the patterns of liberal, loose, and worldly new age churches. The Bible commands in 2 Corinthians 6:17, “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and i will receive you”, and Romans 12:1-2 states, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what it that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
While many church of today have contemporary music they do so because they are trying to appeal to the appetite of the flesh, and instill the word worship (which is being distorted in so many ways among churches) to the worldly music and services. Contemporary music or CCM comes from the 1960’s, of the Jesus movement. Which many young people professed to believe in Jesus, but believed because Jesus freed them, lived a lifesyle based on drugs, free sex, and radical politics, hippies became Jesus people. Ellenburg Baptist Church use and will use the traditional hymns for the glory of God and Him alone. Eph 5:18-21 and Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.
Ephesians 4:11-16
(11) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
(12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
(13) Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
(14) That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
(15) But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
(16) From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Titus 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
